A typical tear sac swelling that is quite big. Therefore blocked tear ducts not
only cause watering.

The Jones' tube is a tube of about 15 millimeters lenght and a few millimeters
width, and is hollow. It allows the tears to run into the nose through it. When in its
final position it is nearly invisible, as seen in the picture. Some "maintenance" is
required and this consists of keeping the tube open by sucking some water through it
daily.
When the common tear duct operation cannot be done, a glass tube must be
inserted to drain the tears straight into the nose.

The most common tear duct operation is most commonly done through the skin and will therefore
leave a scar. Above is an image of what the scar will look like when it is mature.
